Acupuncture is an ancient East Asian medical practice that involves placing very thin needles into specific points on the body. The goal is to restore balance and promote healing by stimulating circulation and energy flow in the body. It is often used as a complementary treatment for pain, arthritis and other conditions.
The needles are sterilized by being heated over an open flame before being inserted into the skin. They are left in place for 15 to 20 minutes, after which they are removed by hand or with tweezers.
Acupuncture has been used to treat various conditions such as allergies, asthma, back pain, depression, headaches, insomnia and weight loss. It can also be used during pregnancy to reduce nausea and vomiting during labor.
While acupuncture is often thought of as being used primarily for pain relief, it can also be used to treat many other conditions including:
Headaches/Migraines
Musculoskeletal Pain (Back Pain)
Menstrual/Pregnancy-related Issues
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & Fibromyalgia
Chronic pain syndromes, such as back pain and neck pain
